Mac, Unix, and Linux drivers
Mac
OS X supports 2
buttons and the scroll wheel. OS 9 supports 1 button. Separate driver
available for $20 at
usboverdrive.com
UNIX
No driver supplied,
but 3 buttons work with default system support.
Linux
No driver supplied,
but 5 buttons work with default system support in XFree.
Button functions
The buttons are programmable after the
driver is installed.
1. Double click the mouse icon on the taskbar to open VerticalMouse Manager.
2. Pull down the
button function menus to select the functions.
The functions are explained
here.
Zooming with scroll wheel
When the driver is not installed, roll the scroll wheel to zoom an image.
When the driver is installed, Ctrl must be pressed to zoom with the scroll
wheel.
Middle click
1. When the VerticalMouse driver is not installed, the scroll wheel button
functions as the middle button. Press the wheel to click.
2. When the VerticalMouse
driver is installed, select the "Wheel Button" function for any
button to make it work as the middle button.
3. In AutoCAD, the wheel/middle button is configurable at the command
prompt. Type mbuttonpan and set to 1 to enable panning. If set to 0, a pop
up menu appears when pressing the wheel button.

Pointer moving randomly in response to
mouse movement
The mouse is probably on a reflective surface. Put it on a completely
non-reflective surface, such as a cotton mouse pad. If the mouse tracks
properly on white printer paper, it is working properly.
Acceleration/precision/pointer
speed/pointer control
When the driver is not installed, go to Control Panel, Mouse, Pointer
Options, and check the box for Enhance Pointer Precision. Install the driver
later if desired.

Mouse, Pointer Options, and check the box for Enhance Pointer Precision. Go
to Start, All Programs, VerticalMouse Manager, click VerticalMouse Manager
to restart the driver.

same time
Both mouses must be in USB ports. Do this:

2. Install the driver.
3. Connect the second mouse to a USB port.
4. Install the driver again. When the installation wizard asks if you wish

situations.
Computer cannot to go into stand by
Connect the mouse to a USB port. If problem persists, go to Control Panel,
System, Hardware, Device Manager, Mice, Evoluent VerticalMouse, Power
Management, and disable "Allow this device to bring computer out of stand
by".
Picking up mouse for repositioning
Picking up the mouse is not necessary. Tilt it to the side and slide it to
reposition it without moving the pointer.
Mouse too big for hand
Use a wrist rest to lift your hand and allow it to be more forward to reach
the buttons easier.
Horizontal scrolling
Install the new
driver. Press Shift and roll the scroller.
Not passing Windows testing
When warning messages about the driver not passing Windows testing appear
during installation, click Continue Anyway. The driver works perfectly in
the vast majority of Windows systems. If there are any conflicts with
programs or other drivers, the only problem may be mouse operation. The
driver can be cleanly uninstalled without harming the system.
